What if your Umbrella got you lost this morning, or the umbrella that broke because of the weather conditions on the way to work, could talk?
Inanimate umbrella's are aimlessly lost in city streets every day without much thought, SIDF decided to give them a voice.
Their project Umbrella Chronicles – an online photo essay that personifies abandoned umbrella's in their habitat – sees miniature message-baring signs attached to discarded objects.
The artists explains of the project on their site: ‘Losing your umbrella can ruin your day for sure but how about losing your favorite umbrella that you always keep in your pocket? It is definitely annoying but you can easily buy a new one. Ever wonder where and what these objects are doing now?’
